2025 has started with my most miserable writing output since I started writing fiction. Between getting ready for the Across the Shining Sea launch, navigating the holidays and the loss of the “E” key on my keyboard, I’ve done very little writing in 2025. I’m okay with that…for now, but I need to get back on my schedule soon. Feel free to give me a poke to get busy on social media in the weeks ahead.
Historical Fiction
Across the Shining Sea Cover Reveal
This novel is about family. A family pulling together through trials and loss and pursuing a better life on the other side of the world. It’s also a view into the world of immigration during the 1880s. I gave my cover designer a very specific vibe that I was looking for and I think she nailed it. I can’t wait to see the real thing in print, but I think she captured the melancholy, thoughtful touch I was looking for. What do you think?
Pre-Order now for only $2.99
Across the Shining Sea will be available on sale from now through the first week of release for 40% off. If you’re able, a pre-order is a great way to help an indie author with their book launch. By placing many orders in a short period of time, the book rises up in the visibility rankings on Amazon organically, helping more people to see it.
After completing a third round of edits on this book, I think it might be the best book I’ve ever written. If you enjoy stories like Little House on the Prairie and movies like Far and Away, you’ll love this one. This is the first book in a planned three book trilogy, but each book will be able to be read independent of one another as a complete story.
If you want to help with launch day (January 31st), I can still use your help to spread the word. Click this link to let me know if you’re interested in helping with launch week or watch for the posts shared on my social media and please re-share. Thank you in advance for your help and support with this.
Free and Free on KU Books…
If you don’t mind helping me out. Please answer the question above. I get quite a few Kindle Unlimited reads, but they are fairly inconsistent. Here are two current promotions I’m involved in with other KU authors if you want to support other Indie authors on Kindle Unlimited.
And for you non-KU users, here are some other great free books this month!
That’s all for now. I can’t wait to hear from everyone who picks up Across the Shining Sea. Here’s a quote from the first review on GoodReads:
“I found this book to be really quite charming and delightful. It not only gave me some insight into what my hubbie's life would have been like living on a farm with so many siblings, it also brought back memories of my own ocean crossings as a small child. It's a great story and beautifully written.”
