As a March birthday boy, the history of the “Ides of March” was always intriguing to me from the first time I read Julius Caesar in high school. Caesar was given a warning to “beware the ides of March” and for good reason. Historically, it was a time of religious observances and the deadline for settling debts in Roman Culture. Today, I come bearing news and gifts, with no warnings other than about changes that should benefit you, the readers.
I write in a variety of genres and in order to best serve you, my readers, I’m going to be dividing up this newsletter into sections so you can quickly navigate to the sections you’re interested in. In each newsletter, I hope to highlight a variety of works in the various genres, while giving updates on my own writing. Thanks for being faithful readers! Getting There From Here
Last year, a conversation with a reader led to a new story. A fiction reader tracked down my first book, which was published in 2020 under my legal name, not my pen name and surprised me with a review on both social media and Amazon. When I talked to him about it, I was surprised by the good review, given his own philosophical beliefs.
"You do a compelling job conveying Christian beliefs. Someone like me wants to understand why you chose those beliefs. If you have written or do write a book about your 'why' I'll read it."
This book is my answer to the “why” question. It’s meant to be an honest examination of my own spiritual journey. The title, Getting There From Here, is a play on the old saying, “you can’t get there from here.” I’m polishing the final draft up now and waiting for my cover designer to finish with the design, but hoping for an Easter release. Look for a short email release week.
