Before It Began launches April 24th - Pre-order now!
I’m so happy with how everything came together for this story. It’s a very meaningful story for me to tell (see the section below to hear why). Al, Reece, Leigh and Phineas have become dear friends and it will be difficult to say goodbye to them. I really hope you enjoy this story as much or even more than I enjoyed writing it. :)
The Force of Magic Cover makes the 3rd Round in the Cover of the Month contest
Today is the last day to vote for The Force of Magic in this competition. It’s currently sitting a few places out of contention and if just 20% of my newsletter followers were willing to vote, you could boost it into the next round. You know you want to help, don’t you? ;) Vote here. Isn’t it beautiful?
What Will I Do? After It’s Over
This is the question one of my author friends posed. This story has been a part of my life for the last year and a half and it was somewhat emotional to write, The End.
Life goes on and there are more stories to write, but this one will always have a special place in my heart. We all suffered loss during the pandemic, but one of the most difficult things for me to watch was the blind trust that people placed into government officials and multi-national corporations.
We’re still hearing more as time goes on, but it’s becoming clear that many of the decisions that were made that brought pain and suffering to the masses were made for profit and not based on public health.
After It’s Over was born out of the idea that what if these people who are in charge were willing to sacrifice everything for their own selfish motives. It imagines a world where society as we know it has been destroyed by these decisions. It isn’t a world anyone should want.
I wrote the books as a warning that we should care more about the people in our community and trust those outside of our community a little less. Real life is lived with the people in front of you and a crisis, like the one in the story, can bring people together.
