Author Interview at The Artist’s Voice
Last month, I had the privilege to spend an hour of my time with the delightful Petra Sittig. Petra is a very busy lady who spends much of her time highlighting various artists around the world. I was honored when she chose me to appear on her Podcast - The Artist’s Voice. Petra is a resident of Vienna, Austria who was inspired during the 2020 lockdowns to create this podcast, which gives a voice to artists from a wide variety of corners of the artistic world. Please enjoy the following free-flowing conversation between Petra Sittig and myself.

Sunrise on the Reaping Review
Sunrise on the Reaping is a masterclass in tension and emotional depth, cementing its place as the second-best book in the Hunger Games series, just behind the original. Suzanne Collins has once again crafted a narrative that grips you from the very first page and refuses to let go.
The story brilliantly expands on the complex world of Panem, revealing the insidious nature of the Capitol's control through the chilling backdrop of the Quarter Quell. The familiar characters, particularly Haymitch and Mags, are given new layers of depth, making their struggles and sacrifices all the more poignant. It adds layers to Haymitch’s character that makes you want to go back and revisit the original trilogy.
The pacing is impeccable, building a sense of dread and urgency that culminates in a series of heart-wrenching moments. The political intrigue is expertly woven into the personal narratives, showcasing the high stakes and moral ambiguities faced by the characters. The emotional core of the story, exploring themes of friendship, sacrifice, and the fight for freedom, resonates deeply.
While "The Hunger Games" introduced us to this harrowing world, "Sunrise on the Reaping" elevates the series by delving into the psychological toll of oppression and the sparks of resistance that ignite in the face of tyranny. This prequel delivers a powerful and unforgettable experience. It's a must-read for any fan of the series and a stellar addition to the dystopian thriller genre. Five stars, without a doubt.

Urkhammer Update
I haven’t forgot my promise to make this story available to my newsletter subscribers for free, I promise. What started as a short story has turned into a full length novel, which is now 90% done. I’m writing the conclusion now and will have the ARC edition out to you guys by June. It is turning into what I like to call a historical, paranormal mystery. If you want to take a peek, you can always read the first part of it for free here.
